Position Overview
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the coordination and completion of Operations field projects from inception to conclusion. Oversees all aspects of projects. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of the project. Serves as primary company interface for project clients, and primary client interface for company associates. Responsible for ensuring excellent client service while complying with company policies/procedures. Ensures effective utilization and deployment of project resources. Though this position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities, management of projects includes directing project-related activities of the project team members.
The person in this position may be expected to mentor and/or train other team members on the more advanced principles of project management. The person in this position will demonstrate expert knowledge of project management & will be able to work independently without direct guidance. The person in this position should be able to manage any projects and/or programs, regardless of customer/complexity.
Responsibilities
- Ensures successful completion of assigned projects
- Acts as the focal point of contact for external clients and internal customers on assigned Operations field projects
- Proactively coordinates and collaborates with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Administration staff
- Manages project schedules and logistics, including changes, such that project deadlines are met
- Ensures compliance with client and IMCORP safety program requirements such that IMCORP associates, client staff, and third parties stay safe throughout the project
- Proactively delivers excellent client service that supports client delight and retention/serves as client service role model
- Proactively manages field associate assignments for projects so as to optimize the quality of work-life for field and other associates within the context of meeting project requirements
- Assists with scheduling Mobil Diagnostic Units along with field
- Proactively schedules, facilitates, and manages client conference calls throughout the project
- Responds directly to client questions or coordinates with other IMCORP associates to provide timely responses to client
- Manages pre-project preparation to ensure that all required information is obtained, communicated, and used on a timely and effective basis
- Escalates project problems and anticipated problems on a timely basis to management
- Reviews and sends diagnostic reports and explanatory information if required to clients on a daily basis
- Performs project-related data analysis to report to clients on an as-needed and timely basis
- Troubleshoots project-related problems or facilitates troubleshooting for project-related problems
- Complies with IMCORP project management procedures and standards, including but not limited to: customer call standards, first contact and status scripts, pre-project planning standards, project data collection outline, and weekend testing procedure
- Assists with the process and procedural improvements to optimize efficiency and effectiveness
- Assists Manager with reporting and analytics – Key Performance Indicators
- Provide PM Support for large scale CLEP programs, large scale Renewable Programs, complicated feeder commissioning
Preferred Qualifications
- AS in Engineering or Business; BS preferred
- 8+ years of relevant project management experience
- Ability to learn and apply technical information about cable diagnostic testing and reliability
- Ability to apply advanced project management concepts, methods, and tools
- Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Client service skills
- Planning skills, including contingency planning skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
- Time/schedule management and prioritization skills
- Process improvement skills
- Project Management Professional Certification
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction
